Dalam rangka menyambut HUT ke 20 SMAN 1 Margasari , pihak sekolah mengadakan kegiatan donor darah rutin yang diselenggarakan pada rabu (1/11) tepatnya di ruang baca, samping Perpustakaan Handayani. Segenap pihak PMI dari Kab. Tegal menghadiri kegiatan tersebut serta sebagai wadah dalam menyalurkan darah yang didonorkan oleh para pendonor. Sebagian perwakilan dari PMR Wira SMAN 1 Margasari juga turut mengkondisikan kegiatan yang telah berlangsung lancar.
Adapun beberapa pendonor yang harus memenuhi syarat diantaranya; sehat jasmani dan rohani, berusia 17-40 tahun, berat badan minimal 45 kg, kadar hemoglobin 12,5g/dl, denyut nadi teratur, tidak menderita penyakit beresiko tinggi, dan untuk perempuan tidak sedang haid/hamil. Dari beberapa syarat tersebut, para calon pendonor paling banyak adalah berasal dari kelas XII dan beserta guru khususnya laki-laki.
Tahukah kamu? Bahwa kegiatan donor darah merupakan salah satu tindakan kemanusiaan yang tak ternilai harganya, dengan satu tetes darah yang kita donorkan, mampu menyelematkan sejuta jiwa diluar sana. Selain itu donor darah juga memiliki manfaat untuk kesehatan tubuh diantaranya; menjaga kesehatan jantung, membantu menurunkan berat badan, meningkatkan produksi sel darah merah, melancarkan sirkulasi darah, menurunkan kadar kolestrol jahat, dan dapat mendeteksi penyakit serius
